Monthly Costs for Training
Payments can be made either in cash or by bank-transfer to: ING account: 4945145 in the care of Shinbukan. Students under 18 and family members all receive a discount and are expected to pay half of the fees.
These fees secure membership to the international organization and liability insurance for all members and are paid once a year.
All students will need a white Dogi (training uniform). Shinkendo students need a Hakama (traditional Japanese trousers) and Bokuto (wooden training sword) in addition to a Dogi (training uniform). Dogis cost €45~60, Bokutos cost €20~50 and Hakama cost €100~200 (depending on quality). The teacher can supply all items at discount prices. Booklets of the history, philosophy, curriculum and testing requirements are available for each course for €20.
Private instruction can be arranged for individuals or groups. Private trainings should not be used as a substitute for regular class attendance, but are intended to augment an individual’s normal training and to make training available to those whose proximity to the dojo makes regular attendance difficult.
Toshishiro Obata Kaiso, chief instructor of Shinkendo and Aikibujutsu has published several books and videos that are recommended to supplement a student’s training. Shinkendo and Aikibujutsu t-shirts and overcoats are also available. All proceeds are used to support the European and International organizations. |
